5.  -=AUTOPLAY=-**

If the Windows Autoplay feature is enabled on your computer, the installer will begin when you insert BLUR DVD into your DVD-ROM drive. Follow the on-screen instructions to continue the installation. If the game is already installed on your system, the BLUR Game Launch screen will appear.

If the Autoplay feature is disabled, you can begin the installation by doing the following**:

a) Go to the Start Menu and select Run.
b) Type D:\SETUP.EXE (assuming D is your DVD-ROM drive letter) and press Enter.

-or-

a) Double-click on My Computer
b) Double-Click your DVD-ROM drive icon.

-or-

a) Navigate to your DVD-ROM drive with Windows Explorer
b) Double-click on SETUP.EXE

6.  -=DIRECTX  DETECTION & INSTALLATION=-

BLUR requires that your computer have the latest version of DirectX  9.0c installed in order to run. This is included with BLUR and will run automatically during installation, and is also available online at:

http://www.microsoft.com

At the end of BLUR install setup, the installer will automatically install DirectX 9.0c and all required runtime updates on your computer. If you already have other Windows games on your computer, chances are you already have a version of DirectX installed. In this case, the Microsoft installer will detect it and will not overwrite any files. You will not need to restart your computer after installation in order to run BLUR. If, however, you do not already have DirectX 9.0c installed the Microsoft installer will detect and overwrite any previous versions with DirectX 9.0c. At that point, you will need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

You can also manually install it later. To do so, use the following instructions**:

1. Place your BLUR disk in the DVD-ROM drive. The Launch screen should appear. (See the AutoPlay section above if it does not appear.)
2. Click on the "Extras" button.
3. Click on "DirectX" and follow the installation process. When DirectX installation finishes, you will need to restart your computer for the new drivers to work.
If you encounter the following error message, then you have tried to start the game without the correct version of DirectX installed on your computer:
"DirectX 9.0c is not installed on this computer. Install it and try again."
You will need to follow the directions above to install DirectX before starting the game.

7.  -=UNINSTALLING=-

BLUR can be uninstalled from your system from the Add/Remove programs section of the Windows Control Panel (Start -> Control Panel). Select BLUR from the list of applications installed and select Uninstall, then follow the instructions on screen.

You will need to manually delete your save games after uninstalling. To do so, use the following instructions

Windows  XP

Save games are stored in the users’ Application Data folder, under “C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Bizarre Creations\blur\save\”. Files are named “blursave” and are appended with the account username (e.g. “blursavemyprofile”). If no account has been created then there is only one save file, named “blursave”.

Windows 7 or Windows Vista

Save games are stored in the users’ Application Data folder, under “C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\bizarre creations\blur\save\”. Files are named “blursave” and are appended with the account username (e.g. “blursavemyprofile”). If no account has been created then there is only one save file, named “blursave”.

III. TROUBLESHOOTING

-------------------

1.  -=VIDEO ISSUES=-

*Most video issues can be resolved by installing the latest drivers for your video card from the manufacturer's website.

ATI: http://www.ati.com

NVIDIA: http://www.nvidia.com

2.  -=SOUND ISSUES=-

Most sound issues can be resolved by ensuring you have the latest AC97 drivers for your sound card installed. Check the website of your sound card manufacturer for the latest AC97 driver release if you are encountering problems with audio playback.

3.  -=INTERNET & CONNECTIVITY ISSUES=-

BLUR  requires an active Internet connection for online play. If you are having problems connecting to a server, make sure your Internet connection is active (try websites, other online games, etc).

If you are having problems hosting a game, please ensure that your firewall and/or router are properly configured. Activision does not provide support for routers and firewalls.
